In Greene County district court Hannah Marie Ladehoff, 23, of Jamaica was sentenced Aug. 22 to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of theft- third degree. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. She was fined $855 with a $128,25 surcharge; both were suspended. She was sentenced to 365 days in jail with credit for time served on a charge of theft- fourth degree. The jail time was suspended. She was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge, also suspended. Ladehoff is jointly and severally liable with three codefendants for $6,290.41 restitution. Two counts of attempted burglary- third degree and two counts of criminal mischief- second degree were dismissed. The charges are related to a theft at the Casey’s General Store in Scranton and Sparky’s One Stop in Rippey. (Sentencing: Honorable John R. Flynn)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Kevin Joe Peterson, 61, of Pahrump, NV, possession of marijuana- third offense; Gentry Lee Lowe, 36, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; Harvick Nathaniel Beals, 22, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; Jay Dean Thede, 49, of Churdan, child endangerment causing bodily injury; Issiaha Keegle, 28, of Grand Junction, animal neglect with serious injury or death, and animal abuse; and Craigg Michael Smith, 49, of Jefferson, sex offender registry violation; A trial date was set for Sept. 29 for Lowe and for Nov. 3 for all other defendants named.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: James Duane Ure, 73, of Jefferson, assault while displaying dangerous weapon; Rene Exequiel Alvarez Pacheco, 34, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated; and Caleb Robert Pedersen, 19, of Dana, operating while intoxicated.
